MSAT-Malaysia 2026 Admission Guideline

Medical Students Admission Test-Malaysia (MSAT- Malaysia 2026)

MSAT-Malaysia is a pre-requisite entrance test for all candidates who wish to apply for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Programme for the academic session 2026/2027. This test is one of the criteria used to ensure fairness in selection of suitable candidates for the competitive MBBS programme.

Preparing for MSAT-Malaysia 2026

MSAT-Malaysia is a 2 hours 40 minutes computer-based test, which consists of multiple-choice questions in 3 different sections. You will take the test online at our provided location or on your own computer at home and will be monitored by a remote Proctor.

Application for MSAT- Malaysia 2026
 

  • The application for the test is open only once a year. Please visit https://msat.um.edu.my/ for application form and payment.
  • Application will commence on the 1st December 2025 until 16th January 2026. Application after 16th January 2026 will NOT be entertained.
  • Please ensure that all details provided during the online registration are complete. Incomplete applications will NOT be considered.

General Application Process for MBBS Programme
 

  1. Check the entry requirements for the MBBS Programme before submitting application. https://study.um.edu.my/entry-requirements. Kindly contact the Admission and Records Section at  https://aasc.um.edu.my/unit-skp for further inquiries on entry requirements.
     
  2. Register through online application for MSAT-Malaysia at https://msat.um.edu.my/. Application will commence on the 1st December 2025 until 16th January 2026. Application after 16th January 2026 will NOT be entertained.
     
  3. Candidates are required to choose their preferred date of the test (24th February 2026 OR 25th February 2026 OR 26th February 2026 OR 27th February 2026)
     
  4. Candidates are to attend the MSAT-Malaysia 2026 test on either 24th, or 25th or 26th, or 27th February 2026 at the allocated time. Candidates are allowed to choose their preferred date and time according to the schedule provided. However, the number of seats for each session is limited. If a particular session is full, candidates will be assigned to another session with available slots.
     
  5. Candidates who sat for MSAT-Malaysia 2026 can apply to enter Universiti Malaya MBBS Programme through the UPU Online website or via UM Open Channel.
     
  6. Selected candidates will be invited to attend the Selection Interview Note:
    (i) Only shortlisted candidates will be notified for the interview 
    (ii) Sitting for the MSAT-Malaysia 2026 DOES NOT guarantee you a placement to the MBBS Programme
     
  7. Enrol into Universiti Malaya MBBS Programme once offer letter is received.

MSAT-Malaysia 2026 Reimbursement Subsidy for Candidates with total household income of RM5250 and below

The Faculty of Medicine provides a reimbursement subsidy of 75% to MSAT-Malaysia 2026 candidates who belong to total household income of RM5250 and below with the following conditions:
 

  1. This subsidy will only be considered for Malaysian citizens.
     
  2. Total household income of below RM5250.
     
  3. Candidates must have registered and paid the full amount for the admission test. 
     
  4. The application for subsidy must be completed and supporting documents shall be attached in PDF format.
     
  5. Subsidy applications will be closed on the 31st January 2026 and will be processed. Any submission after the closing date will not be entertained.  
     
  6. Successful applicants will be informed via e-mail for the reimbursement process. 
     
  7. The subsidy is limited to funds availability.
     
  8. All incomplete applications will not be processed. The decision of the Faculty of Medicine, UM is final.
