The Fulbright Specialist Program, a program of the U.S. Department of State, provides a unique opportunity for institutions across the globe to host a leading U.S. academic or professional. Specialists and host institutions work together to implement a two- to six-week project. Host institutions design project goals and activities that will exchange knowledge and promote long-lasting collaboration between individuals and institutions in the United States and around the world.

The Specialist Program has been a highly rewarding and enriching opportunity for host institutions to have the benefit of direct engagement and input by a very senior expert on their activities. The Fulbright Specialist program is ideal in enabling these high impact visits.

Host institutions may design projects in over 20 disciplines. Specific project activities can include, but are not limited to:

• Delivering seminars, training, or workshops
• Consulting on faculty or workforce development
• Developing academic or training curricula/materials
• Providing lectures at the graduate or undergraduate level
• Engaging in strategic or institutional planning
• Conducting needs assessments or evaluations
