The Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Malaya, would like to congratulate our second-year medical students and their coaches for winning 3 bronze medals at the prestigious Siriraj International Medical Microbiology, Parasitology & Immunology Competition (SIMPIC) 2022. They were coached by the following academic staff from the Departments of Medical Microbiology and Parasitology as well as UM SIMPIC alumni members: Associate Professor Dr Nadia Atiya, Dr Tang Soo Nee, Dr Amirah Amir, Associate Professor Dr Chandramathi Samudi Raju, Dr Rukumani Devi Velayuthan, Dr Nurhafiza Zainal, Dr Maria Kahar Bador, Dr Lim Koo Koon, Dr Teo Yik Pheng, Clara Wong Zi Yi (final year UM MBBS student) and Leon Guo Jian (fourth-year UM MBBS student). Special thanks go out to the Universiti Malaya Medical Society (MEDSOC), especially their Liaison Officer for Academic Competitions, Tan Wei Zhen (second-year UM MBBS student), for his assistance in coordinating the training of the teams.
