The Department of Paediatrics is pleased to inform you that the American Society of Human Genetics (ASHG) has named Professor Dr. Thong Meow Keong, Professor of Paediatrics & Consultant Clinical Geneticist as the 2022 recipient of the ASHG Advocacy Award. As mentioned in the excerpt from the ASHG Press Release, Professor Dr. Thong’s research has helped parents, children, underserved Asian populations, and Malaysian society as a whole. With his expertise in rare diseases, he has introduced and indeed worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring genomic diagnostic tools and treatments for children.
