While the program is primarily structured to meet industry needs, it also ensures that graduates develop a strong foundation in research skills. This equips them with the confidence and ability to further their studies at the PhD level if they choose to do so.
Additionally, graduates will be well-prepared for careers in academia and research, particularly in the rapidly advancing field of regenerative medicine.
This program is a 48-credit-hour mixed-mode full-time master's program, which consists of 20 credit hours of core program courses, 4 credit hours of elective courses (students only need to select one of the two elective courses offered by the program) and 24 credit hours of dissertation. The methods of delivery include lectures, assignments, discussions, presentations, laboratory visits, mini-industry training and a research dissertation. This program does not have a university compulsory course except for the Research Methodology Course, which is a part of the core program course.

The entry requirement for this program (according to University Malaya (Master Degree) Rules 2024) is as follow:
1. | A Bachelor’s degree of Medicine and Degree of Surgery or a Bachelor’s Degree of Dental Surgery; or a professional qualification from a recognized professional body; or A Bachelor’s Degree of Science in the related field with a CGPA of not less than 3.0; or A Bachelor’s Degree of Science with a CGPA of not less than 3.0 and with at least one year of working experience in the field of regenerative medicine. |
2. | Any other qualification as may be approved by the Senate from time to time; |
3. | With a CGPA of not less than 3.0 or equivalent; |
4. | Candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree of CGPA 2.7 to 2.99 may be considered if they meet at least one of the following criteria:
