The career opportunities upon the completion of this program include the potential employment as bioprocess development scientists, research and development manager for medical-related products, product application specialists in various bio-industries (i.e. biotechnology-related industries, pharmaceutical industries, clinical and medical engineering industries), quality assurance managers (such as those relating to GMP and GLP accredited laboratories or industries), laboratory application specialists, clinical specialist trainee and panels or officials for Regulatory bodies such as the National Pharmacy Regulatory Division (NPRA; formerly known as National Pharmaceutical Control Bureau, NPCB). The structure of the program is not specifically designed for those who wish to pursue a Philosophy of Doctorate (PhD) degree upon the completion of this program, as it was structured to meet the industry needs; however, the program was designed to take into consideration the possibility that candidates may want to continue their studies by ensuring that they will have sufficient research skills at the end of their training to enable them to pursue a PhD degree confidently. In addition, students from this program are expected to be equipped with skills sufficient for them to pursue an academic or research-fellow career in the field of regenerative medicine.
This program is a 48 credit hours mixed-mode full-time master's program, which consists of 20 credit hours of core program courses, 4 credit hours of elective courses (students only need to select one of the two elective courses offered by the program) and 24 credit hours of dissertation. The methods of delivery include lectures, assignments, discussions, presentations, laboratory visits, mini-industry training and a research dissertation. This program does not have a university compulsory course except for the Research Methodology Course, which is a part of the core program course.

A non-Malaysian applicant whose degree is from a university or institution of higher learning where the medium of instruction for that degree is not the English language and where the applicant wishes to follow a programme shall be required:
If the applicant does not have the prescribed qualifications as above, the applicant may be considered for admission subject to passing any English language test recognized by the Senate before being allowed to register for the Master of Public Health program.
The entry requirement for this program (according to University Malaya (Master Degree) Rules 2019) is as follow:
1. | Ijazah Sarjana Muda Perubatan dan Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pembedahan atau Ijazah Sarjana Muda Pembedahan Pergigian dari Universiti; atau kelayakan iktisas dari badan professional yang diiktiraf; atau A Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and Degree of Surgery or a Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery; or a professional qualification from a recognized professional body; or A Bachelor’s Degree of Science in the related field with a CGPA of not less than 3.0; or A Bachelor’s Degree of Science with a CGPA of not less than 3.0 and with at least one-year working experience in the field of regenerative medicine. Any other qualification as may be approved by the Senate from time to time; |
2. | With a CGPA of not less than 3.0 or equivalent; |
3. | Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree of CGPA 2.7 to 2.99 may be considered if they meet at least one of the following criteria:
