FRGS Grant Clinic

Greetings from the Research Office, Faculty of Medicine, UM!

The Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) applications will be opened tentatively in January 2023. The FOM Research Management Unit is pleased to announce the launch of the FRGS Grant Clinic in November 2022. We have selected a team of experienced FRGS reviewers, who will be able to review your draft and provide feedback for improvement, before the eventual application deadline. This will be a one-to-one session; all proposals will be kept private and confidential.

A total of fifteen (15) consultation slots are available based on a first-come-first-serve basis, with details as follows:
Date: 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd & 30th November 2022
Time: 9.00 am - 12.00 pm (One hour per slot)
Venue: Research Office, Dato Panglima Kinta Eusoff Research Centre, Level 3, Faculty of Medicine

During the grant clinic, a potential FRGS applicant can choose to consult regarding any (or all) of the following:

• Suitability of the project based on FRGS criteria and elements
• Formulation of the project - how to improve on the project title, research questions, objectives and methodology
• Planning of the project - how to plan research activities, milestones and budget allocation and how to indicate good planning in the proposal
• Enhancement of the project - how to highlight the value, novelty and impact of the project
• Overall feedback - how to improve the quality of the proposal
• Any other support/resource needed in applying for FRGS

***Grant consultants will be selected and assigned based on the nature of the proposal.
