BioMedical Admissions Test BMAT (UMalaya) 2017

BMAT (UMalaya) is a pre-requisite entrance test for all candidates who wish to apply for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Programme for the academic session 2017/2018. This test is one of the criteria used to ensure fairness in selection of suitable candidates for the competitive MBBS programme.

Preparing for BMAT (UMalaya) 2017

BMAT (UMalaya) is a 2-hour, pen-and-paper test divided into three sections assessing multiple different components. Details about the format of the test are as follow:

Sections Component Tested Number of Questions Timing

Section 1:

Aptitude and Skills

Generic skills in problem solving, understanding arguments and data analysis and inference. 35 multiple-choice questions. 60 minutes
Section 2:

Scientific Knowledge and Applications

The ability to apply scientific knowledge typically covered in school Science and Mathematics . 27 multiple-choice questions. 30 minutes
Section 3:

Writing Task

The ability to select, develop and organise ideas, and to communicate them in writing, concisely and effectively. One writing task from a choice of four questions. 30 minutes

Application for BMAT (UMalaya) 2017

 The application for the test is open only once a year. Application will commence on the 21st of November 2016 until 16th of January 2017. All application after the 16th of January 2017 will not be entertained.*
