Services will be improved and upgraded as new techniques and methods of management emerge. An upgraded foot and ankle service will be carried out. Patient assessment of services will be incorporated into all aspects of care to get true feedback and give good service. An award for best nurse of the year will be instituted aiming at further improving nursing care.

Research will be upgraded with the opening of the new biomechanics lab and cadaveric lab and the tissue bank. The Yayasan Ortopedik funded building will give us much needed space and research infrastructure.

Our teaching is continually being reappraised and ammended for continuous improvement. As the undergraduate teaching increases from 6 weeks to 8, we intend to increase student participation in patient management. Postgraduate training includes trauma and 6 subspecialties and daily teaching. This will include teaching in all the new techniques and management modes we are putting in place.

We intend to keep up and increase the charity activities and keep it a happy, healthy, helpful and closely knit department.
