 Academic Programmes

The Department plays a major role in the following academic programmes.

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - MBBS [Mal]

We teach a 6 week ( soon to increase to 8 week) programme that is highly rated the students. It is a “hands-on” course including lectures, ward rounds, tutorials and teaching in clinic and operation theatres. 

Master in Orthopaedic Surgery - M (Ortho) [Mal]

This 4 year course is a full time clinical course. It includes Orthopaedic Trauma and rotation through the following subspecialities:

  • Upper Limb and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Orthopaedic Sports Surgery
  • Spine Surgery
  • Musculoskeletal Oncology
  • Paediatric Orthopaedics
  • Limb Lengthening and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Division Joint Replacement and we also teach foot and ankle surgery at a two monthly clinic. 

We help train candidates in the orthopaedic aspects of their training, using both lectures and clinical tutorials.
